Our June spot light is a Black Widow. Thanks again Nicole for participating. If anyone else would like to be featured send me a PM!!!

1. Whats your name and why did you pick your callsign?
My names is Nicole Miller and my call sign is Vixen. I picked this call sign as one of my mentors called me it and it stuck from there. I look up greatly to my mentors and appreciate all that they have done to help me out and get me to where I am as a Black Widow.

2. How long have you been a part of the JRS, and what is it that sparked your interest in joining?
I have been a part of the JRS for over a year now and what sparked me joining was Targ. I was researching for my husband and gathering all the information when he said why don’t I become a Black Widow since I am doing all the hard work, and thus I did. I have always wanted to be a female pilot and now I am in a wonderful and glorious sense.

3. Of all of the troops that you have done, what would you say is the one that stands out in your mind in meaning the most to you and why?
Out of all my troops, our Seattle Children’s Quarterly Visit is the one that stands out the most to me. It touches me to visit every child especially when I am asked to rely messages to Lord Vader for a special visit. There was one child whom said I was their favorite and wishes to be a Tie Pilot like me. On our next visit, I hope to give him either a JRS patch or hopefully have a personal patch by then to give him one.

4. How has being a part of the 501st/JRS impacted your life?
Being a part of the 501st/JRS has impacted me greatly in so many ways including my social aspects. I am always busy now and I love it. Being an event coordinator for my garrison is a complete honor and really gives me the feeling of accomplishment as I am doing so much more. I enjoy helping and volunteering as whole and being able to do so with my favorite movie involved makes it that much more enjoyable.

5. Outside of trooping and 501st/JRS related stuff, what do you do for a living, and what are some other interests or hobbies that you have?
Outside of 501st/JRS I am a Patient Services Representative for my doctor’s clinic. I have been with them for about a year now and I love working for them as I have an awesome team of ladies that I work with as well as an amazing manager. I also am an actress for the Washington Renaissance Midsummer Faire as well as for the highland games throughout Washington and some into Oregon. I really enjoy dancing so I am part of the community Zumba and Mixxed Fit classes during the week with Iaido on some of the days as well since I thoroughly enjoy sword play.

6. Can you give us an idea as to the kind of support you get from friends and family regarding the 501st and all the great things that you have done for the JRS?
My family supports me all the way and it is just amazing when I see them share a photo on their wall saying “This is what my cousin does”, or “My cousin/neice is soooo cool! Look at what she is doing now”. My family has many cancer survivors and they are floored that I work with so many charities and to them, if it wasn’t for what we do, some of them wouldn’t be here right now and that alone is tremendous to them and really advocates their support ever further with what I do.

7. And lastly, is there anything, Star Wars related or not, that people might not know about you that they might be surprised to find out?
The only thing not Star Wars related about me would be my acting with the renaissance faires. I have also performed with BOOM, Brotherhood of Oceanic Mercenaries, a sword fighting black powder pirate group for many years. I have been acting for about 18 years now and I absolutely love it. Children is the reason why I do what I do in both of these fields, I love to make children smile and believe what I am is real. I love to keep the magic alive for children and touch their hearts in ways that will leave lasting impressions on them.

I will let you know if I think of anything else or needs to be changed. But everything sounds good to me.
