Backplate
I have these huge sides on my backplate, do y'all think it matters if I trim these down to a comfortable size?

This is your front plate, not the back.
But you have to remove the curve in the bottom.

I would take off a few inches either side, until it meets up with your front armor.
The back plate may need a trim at the bottom also to eliminate that curve. As you know already on the front armor plate, the curve needs eliminating also?
