Could someone please post pictures of their side straps on their armors please or direct me to a link. I've read about the many different ways of doing this and I'd like to go with a snap on the backplate and Velcro on the front. But I've seen no photos of how folks are doing this. As I've posted before I'm pretty much reworking a old rig I picked up so I've pretty much been doing a lot of trail and error and with some help from several folks here. I'm a visual person so pictures would be great.
Also I have a couple of small places on the front plate that needs smoothing from the old pull. I have no XP using a heat gun so any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Side Strap Pics
i just checked my photos and my strap doesnt show up. But its SUPER simple, 1 inch wide elastic, with velcro sewed to the ends, and Velcro fixed inside the front and inside the back of the armor plates.

I've done similar. Sticky hook Velcro on the armour and then a strap with loop Velcro on it.

I did the exact same as Sheriff and Blackwatch. You may have to bond some of the loop to the elastic using superglue

Re: Side Strap Pics
What the guys said above. But you want to put sticky "loop" velcro on the inside of your armor & sew the "hook" velcro onto the elastic. You NEVER want hook velcro rubbing against soft fabric. In time it will scratch a hole in your jumpsuit. Also don't use superglue on any fabric, it wont hold. Same goes for hot glue. Do it right & sew it on. If you have no sewing machne skills you can do it by hand. Wont be pretty but it will hold. No one will see this any way. Can't really see it,but here is my Tie with the strap.

Re: Side Strap Pics
Just kidding. I also used 1 inch elastic, but my chest and back armor almost touches on the side. I used snaps because I just felt that Velcro eventually will wear out. So I have the female button part on the elastic and the male part is on a square piece of ABS that I attached using CA glue to the inside of my armor about 2 inches in from the edge.
