using both rubber and ABS straps

Post by nivrac »

so if I have the latex rubber straps for my armor taking the weight of the chest box, should I also mount the ABS straps over the top of those, connecting at the front only, just to give everything a more screen-accurate look, or not?

thanks for your opinion.

you certainly can if you want to. i have mine floating on top of velcro and heavy webbing attaching the front and back. After 7 years one of my straps finally cracked but thats after 7 years and 70+ troops

I know the Snows and AT-ATs do this type of thing, and it works for them because they don't have the octagons. But when you have those back octagons in place, you can't have the ABS straps floating above them, so I think I'm just gonna stick with the rubber straps only.

I just went rubber straps only. I got the first gen MyLaw4U, so I also added in webbing as well.

I'd suggest probably going with only the rubber since you'd be able to see both straps

I secure my front & back armor with a nylon strap & I have the ABS free floating. I secure the plastic straps with velcro. You can't tell there is a nylon strap under. Trooped many times without a problem.
