Help with Anovos kit

Thanks in advance. I bought an Anovos kit years ago and have started building it. The octagons seem to be a little small compared to the straps. Is that ok? What width are the straps and octagon supposed to be?

Can i trim more of the edge off of the strap?Image

That’s the correct sizing…same as screen used
