Re: Shoulder Strap Octogons
How are the octagons attached to the shoulder straps? Rivets? Just glue?

Re: Shoulder Strap Octogons
Hi everyone!
i'm right on the same problem! do you glue them on? and what about the central round knob at the front? can I just glue a flat (or rounded) semishere on it?
sorry an other question...how do you prefere to attach the straps on the armor? do you like them fixed or that they can move? like on a screw of sort....
thanks!!!

CRL:
Armor
For 501st approval:
Armor consists of the front and back pieces as shown, with two shoulder straps anchored by an octagon of plastic on each end.
Black Nylon webbing or elastic is allowed to aid in the snug fit of the armor.
The shoulder straps are not load bearing.
Being plastic they can crack.
The best way to connect Shoulder straps to armor is:
Use a Chicago bolt through the octagonal piece, then the plastic shoulder strap, then the Front armor and finally through some black webbing strap (bout an inch wide). The rear, maybe just a pop rivet from the top or rear armor, then through the webbing strap. So all weight is on the strap. Some Velcro under the rear of the shoulder strap to armor works well. If anyone has a picture of this, chim in. I can have one up tomorrow as I'm away from Armor ATM.

This thread has been so helpful. I've been asking on the other sections of the forum and been getting no replies. This info is just what I needed as well.
